Black and white

Taking the colour away changes what a photograph is about. Without it, the eye goes to shape, light, and texture, and a scene I walked past in colour can suddenly feel like the only thing in the frame. Black and white is where I go when the story is in the contrast.

These photographs run from stormy prairie skies and weathered farmhouses to city streets and close-up details. Pick a category below to start.
