Skies and storms

On the prairie, the sky is most of the picture. I watch it the way other people watch a clock, because the best light rarely lasts more than a few minutes.

Black and white strips the weather down to its bones. Towering storm cells, shafts of rain, and sunbeams breaking through cloud all gain weight when there is no colour to soften them.

This collection gathers storms, cloudscapes, and low sun from across Manitoba, with a few winter skies mixed in.
