About Casey Sisterson

I’m Casey Sisterson, a Manitoba photographer. I photograph birds, macro subjects and the prairie landscape, and I keep a dedicated section for the birds of Manitoba.

What I photograph

Birds. Pelicans, eagles, ducks, herons, hummingbirds and backyard songbirds, photographed on Manitoba’s wetlands, rivers and fields. I’m drawn to behaviour: landings, courtship, feeding, and the quiet moments in between.

Macro. Bees, hoverflies, spiders and dew-covered flowers, up close, where small details become the whole picture.

Prairie landscape. Big skies, sunrise and sunset colour, winter fields, fog and frost. The prairie looks different in every season and every kind of weather.

Black & white. Storm skies, weathered buildings, quiet roads and city streets, where light, shape and texture matter more than colour.

Photographing Manitoba

Manitoba has migrating waterbirds, boreal forest, open prairie and long winters, and I photograph all of it. The portfolio collects my favourites by genre.

Photography is my zen. It’s how I relax and slow down, and I’m endlessly fascinated by nature and wildlife. There’s something magical about it. I chase what I love and adore, and all I want is to share it with you.
