Pelican fishing

Pelicans fish as a team, working the churning water below the dams: scooping, tipping the pouch to drain it, and swallowing the catch. This is part of my American white pelican collection.

This gallery of pelican fishing photographs follows American white pelicans feeding in Manitoba, from the first scoop to the final swallow. Each frame shows a different moment of the hunt.
