American mink
The American mink is a sleek, dark brown member of the weasel family, with a small white chin patch, a bushy tail, and a body built for life along the water.
Mink hunt along streams, marshes, and lake edges, swimming and diving for fish, frogs, and small mammals, and they are usually seen as a quick brown blur at the water’s edge.
These two frames of a mink working along a half-frozen creek in early spring are among my favourites.
