There’s something inherently captivating about old buildings. They whisper stories of a bygone era, of lives lived and lessons learned. Erinside School, with its weathered wooden exterior and classic design, immediately drew me in. Standing before it, I couldn’t help but imagine the early 1900s, when children from the local community would gather here, eager to learn and grow.
The exterior of Erinside School is a testament to the craftsmanship of the past. Each detail, from the shingled roof to the large, inviting windows, speaks of an era where simplicity met functionality. In black and white, the building’s timeless beauty is accentuated, allowing me to highlight its enduring strength and character. The way the structure stands against the prairie sky, framed by nature, tells a story of resilience.
Peering through the windows of Erinside School felt like glimpsing into another world. A single wooden desk, and walls of well-worn blackboard paint a vivid picture of daily life in the early 20th century. I imagined the laughter and chatter of students, the stern yet caring guidance of the teacher, and the countless lessons that echoed through the room.
As I stood by the windows, I found myself lost in imagination. I thought of the children who learned and played here, the friendships formed, and the dreams nurtured within these walls. Perhaps there were tales of mischief, of first crushes, or of the excitement of learning something new. Each corner of the school seemed to hold a memory, waiting to be discovered and shared.
Behind the historic Erinside School, hidden among the bushes, stands a relic of the past—the old school outhouse. This weathered structure, once an essential part of daily life for students and teachers alike, now silently testifies to a bygone era. Made of rustic wood, the outhouse has withstood the test of time, its presence evoking images of children dashing through the prairie, braving the elements to reach it.
