On thistle they play,

Red admirals in ballet,

Nature’s bright display.
Driving along a serene backcountry road, I stumbled upon a mesmerizing sight that felt like a scene from a fairytale. Hundreds of red admiral butterflies, their vivid black, red, and white patterns contrasting sharply against the purple blooms of Scottish thistle, danced in the warm afternoon breeze. The air was alive with their fluttering wings, creating a magical, almost surreal atmosphere. Each delicate butterfly seemed to playfully leap from one thistle to another, their movements synchronized in an enchanting ballet of nature. It was a moment of pure, unadulterated beauty, a reminder of the intricate and often hidden wonders that lie along the less traveled paths.
